Conference and Short Course Registration Information
The 2009 QPRC registration will be handled by the American Statistical Association. The early registration fee (available through April 30)
is $200 (regular) and $75 (student). The early registration fee for the pre-conference course is $150 ($75 for students). The registration fee will
include the meals listed in the Agenda.

Hotel information
The 2009 QPRC will be held at the IBM, Thomas J. Watson Research
Center (TWRC), Yorktown
building, located at the intersection of the Taconic State Parkway and NY
Route 134. A block of rooms is being held until May 4, 2009, 6pm EST in the
La Quinta
Hotel in Elmsford located about 10 miles to the south of
the TWRC. A shuttle bus will be provided between the La Quinta
Hotel and TWRC
(On June 3,4 and 5 this bus will depart from La Quinta Inn at 7am and return to La Quinta after the end of the daily program).
The room rate is $99
single or double occupancy plus tax (students will be permitted to share a room
based on double occupancy). The rates
include continental breakfast, Internet access and parking. Reservations can be made by calling the hotel

The La Quinta Hotel Elmsford is located within 10 minute drive
from the White Plains train station (1/2hr by train from New York City), 20 min drive from the
Westchester County Airport, 45 min drive from La Guardia Airport (LGA), 1hr drive from Newark Airport. Its address is:

To get from LGA to La Quinta Hotel, one can use the
Hospitality Limo, Tel. 914-591-5404. The one-way flat cost is $75 (it includes tips, taxes, tolls and other expenses; please mention QPRC when ordering).
Up to four people can share a ride. Costs to/from JFK and Newark airports are $85 and $100, respectively.
Another possibility is
Westchester Express , Tel. 800-532-3730 (LGA and JFK only): to get a shared ride, go to the Ground Transportation desk at the airport and dial 21 on the courtesy phone. The one-way costs as of March 2009 are $46 (LGA) and $49 (JFK). One could expect a 30min waiting time.
To get to TWRC from La Quinta hotel turn right from the parking lot onto Rte
9A north; go for about 1.5 miles to Saw Mill River Parkway north. Proceed to
Taconic State Parkway exit, then go north on this parkway until the Rte 134 exit. Turn right
and proceed east on Rte 134 two hundred yards. TWRC is on your right.
The Industry Solutions Lab (we will have a cocktail hour there on June 4) is in
Hawthorne II building, located about 1 mile North of La Quinta Hotel, on Rte 9A, on the same side of the road.
The pre-conference course (June 2) is in the adjacent IBM Hawthorne I building (19 Skyline Drive, Hawthorne, NY 10532).
A limo will will depart from La Quinta Inn on June 2 at 8:15am and return to La Quinta at 5:15pm.
An additional block of 20 rooms has been reserved with
Comfort Inn,
located on 20 Saw Mill River Road,
Hawthorne, NY10532 (1.47 miles North from La Quinta, on the same side of the road). The cost is $125 plus tax
per room; it includes continental breakfast and internet. Tel: 914-592-8600, Fax: 914-592-7457, please
mention the QPRC group (the cut-off date is May 9, 2009). The shuttle bus will make a stop at this hotel, on the way from/to La Quinta.
To get to TWRC from New York City take either a Harlem Line train to
Mount Kisco or a Hudson Line train to Croton-Harmon. For Metro-North rail system map click

Parking information
If you come to TWRC by car, identify yourself at the gate and proceed
to the Visitors Parking (a two-tier lot located across the road from the main
entrance). If this lot is full, follow the signs to the back end of the
building, park there, use the entrance with a concrete overhang, identify yourself
to security, and follow signs to the Auditorium
