Ship engine room is a structure required to meet the needs of conditions. When the structure of the engine room is taken into consideration, taking precaution does not bring 100% solution to a problem that occurs suddenly even a simple mechanical failure can cause irreparable loss. Because of this reason, together with an effective fault management system, take immediate action against any possible fault detection and motor disorders are needed.

This study has been applied Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method availability for fundamental failures occurred in marine diesel engines on which auxiliary systems the most affected based on decision-making groups. Firstly, fundamental faults affecting Marine diesel engines have been prioritized by the FAHP method which identified by the decision-making groups. Secondly the most effected auxiliary system of the ship main diesel engine determined. As can be seen from the results of alternative evaluation the Cooling System is considered as the most affected alternative by faults which is the most common consensus among the decision-making groups.
