PCS Challenges in Supply Line

To contain and control risk in a massively complex manufacturing process, Intel is using Statistical Process Control Systems (PCS) to not just inside its manufacturing operations, but also extending it to encompass the supply line.  The resulting challenges include: balancing producer’s risk with consumer’s risk, bridging different industries’ quality practices, measurement capability of low level contaminants, as well as the usual issues of real world data not meeting statistical assumptions.
