We have technical tours lined up for both in-person and remote attendees.
The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (MagLab), the largest and highest-powered magnet laboratory in the world, is a partnership among Florida State University, the University of Florida and Los Alamos National Laboratory and funded by the National Science Foundation.
This virtual tour will show you around the Florida State University branch of MagLab and our scientists and engineers will explain how our world-record magnets work, how we make them, what kind of experiments are conducted to probe fundamental questions about materials, energy and healthcare.
The Zoom link for the tour is: https://fsu.zoom.us/j/91253555231.
The tour is scheduled from 4:30-5:30pm EST on July 28, 2021.
Note that the tour will use Zoom Webinar, so only the MagLab Tour Guide and selected tour leaders will have camera & microphone access. Everyone else will be able to participate through chat.
The in-person tour and reception takes place on Florida State University's Engineering campus. There are two stops on the tour, the High-Performance Materials Institute (HPMI) and the Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS).
Following these tours, we will hold a reception with refreshments and bar service in the HPMI Atrium
A bus will provide two-way transportation between the Turnbull Conference Center and the Engineering Campus.
