2006 Joint Research Conference on Statistics in Quality, Industry and Technology

Call for Contributed Papers

Conference Description

The 2006 Spring Research Conference on Statistics in Industry and Technology and the 2006 Quality and Productivity Research Conference are being held jointly in 2006 to focus on areas of common interest. Two half-day short courses precede the conference on June 6. The conference and short courses will be held at the Hilton Knoxville located in the downtown area (
http://www.downtownknoxville.org/) near the University of Tennessee. Knoxville is located in the East Tennessee Valley between the Cumberland and the Smoky Mountains of the southern Appalachians. Early June weather is typically very pleasant and the area offers many entertainment and recreational opportunities (http://www.discoveret.org/).

The JRC 2006 theme, Challenges from Emerging Trends in Applications, Data, and Technology, highlights new trends in applications that are currently driving significant change in statistical practice. The technical program draws on the strengths and traditions of both the SRC and QPRC conferences. Keynote and plenary speakers include Sallie Keller-McNulty (Rice University and 2006 ASA President), William Q. Meeker (Iowa State University), Way Kuo (University of Tennessee), Blanton Godfrey (North Carolina State University), and Thom Mason, (Oak Ridge National Laboratory). We plan a tour of ORNLā€™s Spallation Neutron Source facility and the National Center for Computational Science (Advance registration for the tour is required!). The invited session program is also nearly complete and can be viewed along with other conference information at
