Should Cost Tools – A View Into the Future

Abstract:

In traditional product development, the usual order of progression was design, manufacturing, and then cost-out, with potentially limited integration between engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.  With the advent of should cost tools, there is much greater opportunity to integrate the three domains earlier in product development.  This presentation will describe some of the currently available tools and our vision for the potential of the approach.
